Our Activities of California Branch
We hope to instill confidence and hope within youth!
Our AI & Ethics Club hosts monthly discussions where members share insights on topics like algorithmic bias, transparency, and accountability. Through open dialogue, we encourage members to reflect critically on the ethical challenges facing technology while fostering a collaborative space that fosters learning and community.
As founder of my school’s AI and Ethics Club, I visited Silicon Valley to discuss AI applications with engineers from Amazon and TikTok. The trip deepened my understanding of how tech leaders balance innovation and ethics, inspiring me to host seminars that encouraged students to reflect on AI’s social responsibility.
We invited high school students from diverse cultural backgrounds to engage in discussions on AI and ethics. Together, we actively explored the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and its societal impacts, while also sharing real-life experiences regarding the negative effects of AI products on youth. I guided participants in delving into the intersection of public policy and AI ethics, and encouraged everyone to disseminate knowledge and raise awareness about various AI-related issues within their communities and social circles.
We organized an outreach event in the Palo Alto High School community to raise awareness about AI ethics. Through posters and discussions, we highlighted issues such as fairness, transparency, and responsibility in technology, encouraging peers to reflect on how artificial intelligence impacts society.
Our foundation coordinates regular online and offline forums designed to foster collaboration among our youth volunteers. These sessions serve as a platform for sharing ideas, reporting on community initiatives from different branches and clubs, and soliciting constructive feedback to enhance the effectiveness of all our operations.
I organized a ski trip to Lake Tahoe for our core team members. Through this activity, we clarified our branch's commitment to addressing cutting-edge topics and social issues, aiming to educate the community about our perspectives and the latest developments on trending subjects such as AI and ethics.
